The Panther women's tennis team hosted the second annual Gail Smith doubles tournament on campus. Eight draws in round robin play sent eight doubles teams to the championship bracket, where Brittany Berckes and Natasha Brown of Amherst emerged with the '08 title with an 8-6 win in the finals.

Rookies Victoria Aiello (Milton, Mass.) and Anna Burke (Summit, N.J.) advanced out of their bracket and into the quarterfinals, as did seniors Elizabeth Stone (Cohasset, Mass.) and Elizabeth Emery (McLean, Va.). The rookie duo picked up an 8-6 win over Amherst, before falling 8-1 in the semifinal round. The pair of seniors fell in a tie-breaker to Williams, 9-8 (5). Both groups had previously picked up three wins in round robin play to advance to the championship bracket.
