Softball Thumps Skidmore - Elminated From NESCAC Tourney

Middlebury had little trouble at Skidmore, as it handed the Thoroughbreds 16-0 and 13-0 in a pair of non-league road games in Saratoga, N.Y. Unfortunately for the Panthers, Amherst swept Hamilton, eliminating Middlebury from post-season contention.

In game one, Middlebury broke the game open in the third inning scoring 12 runs on nine hits.  Victoria Glowacky's three-run home run highlighted the inning. Glowacky finished the game 2-4 with two runs and five RBI.

Panther pitcher Jennifer Williams held Skidmore to one hit while striking out six to improve to 7-5. Williams was also 4-4 at the plate with four RBI.

In the second game, Middlebury used the long ball to score eight of the team's 13 runs. Colleen Sullivan, Glowacky, and Lauren Battaglia all went deep for the Panthers.

Sullivan finished 2-2 with four RBI, while Allison Bard was 2-3 with two driven in. Brittany Burke earned the win, allowing four hits over five innings.
