First-year player Amy Berkman (Shelburne, Vt.) turned in a solid performance as she won three times before falling in the quarterfinals to the top-seeded player, 6-0, 6-2. Sophomore Amy Roche (Cold Spring Harbor, N.Y.) and first-year players Amanda Berck (Roslyn, N.Y.) each won two matches before falling in the round of 16.
