Top-seeded Middlebury advanced to the NESCAC Championship match for the fourth-straight year with a 5-0 win Saturday over fourth-seeded Amherst (12-5) in a match played at the Proctor Tennis Courts. The Panthers (16-1) will take on either second-seeded Wesleyan or third-seeded Bowdoin. The championship match will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday afternoon.

Middlebury moved out to a 3-0 advantage at the conclusion of doubles. Katherine Hughes and Skylar Schossberger posted an 8-2 victory at No. 2 over Camille Smukler and Anya Invenitsky. The Panthers doubled their lead when Christina Puccinelli and Maddi Stow tallied an 8-6 win over Anya Ramras and Maddie Dewire in the third flight. The No. 1 duo of Heather Boehm and Ann Martin Skelly rounded out the sweep with an 8-7 (1) triumph over the Kelsey Chen and Jackie Bukzin.

During singles action, Boehm made the score 4-0 in favor of Middlebury with a 6-0, 6-1 victory against Bukzin, while Puccinelli clinched the match at No. 3 with a 6-4, 6-2 triumph over Dewire.

The remaining four matches went unfinished with the Panthers up on three courts. Hughes and Smukler split the first two sets with Hughes up 1-0 in the third in the second position, while Schossberger and Ivenitsky did the same at No. 4 and with Ivenitsky up 2-0 in set number three. Amherst's Claire Evans claimed the opening set against Stow in the fifth slot and was up 3-2 in the second, while Middlebury's Emily Bian secured the initial set and was down 3-1 against Camilla Trapness at No. 6 when the match concluded.
