The third-ranked Middlebury women's tennis team cruised past No. 6 Amherst (11-3, 5-2) Saturday by a 9-0 score in the Nelson Recreation Center. The Panthers (13-1, 7-0), winners of eight-straight matches, close out their regular season on Sunday when travel to No. 16 Skidmore for a 1:00 p.m. match.

The hosts grabbed all three points during doubles play. The No. 2 team of Katherine Hughes and Skylar Schossberger posted an 8-1 victory over Anya Ivenitsky and Camille Smukler, while the top tandem of Heather Boehm and Ann Martin Skelly doubled the lead with an 8-4 win against Jackie Bukzin and Kelsey Chen. The No. 3 pair of Christina Puccinelli and Maddi Stow earned the team's third point via an 8-5 win over Maddie Dewire and Anya Ramras.

In singles action, the Panthers swept all six matches in straight sets. Boehm earned a 6-3, 6-0 win against Bukzin atop the lineup, while Hughes posted a 6-4, 6-0 victory against Smukler one spot below. Schossberger clinched the match behind a 6-4, 6-3 triumph at No. 4 over Ivenitsky, while Puccinelli won 6-3, 6-3 against Dewire in the third flight.

Stow picked up a 6-4, 6-1 victory against Camilla Trapness at No. 5, while Emily Bian completed the sweep with a 6-3, 6-4 triumph against Ramras at the bottom of the lineup for the final 9-0 tally.
