Arvidsson Earns All-American Honors at NCAA Skiing Championships

Middlebury concluded the 2018 NCAA Championships in eighth place among 23 scoring teams. Denver won the national title with 604 points, followed by Colorado (563) and Dartmouth (448.5). The Panthers tallied 248 total points over the four-day event, placing third among eastern schools. Erik Arvidsson had a great race for the men on Friday night, earning All-American honors with a fourth-place finish. 

Arvidsson sat in seventh place after the first run on Friday night, before earning the fifth-fastest time in his second trip down the hill. He finished with a two-run time of 1:21.75 to earn his fourth-place finish. Riley Plant was the other Middlebury men's racer in the slalom, finishing 25th overall with a time of 1:26.58.

The women were not as fortunate on day two, with just one racer completing both runs. Lexi Calcagni placed 25th in the race, crossing the line in 1:25.77. Lucia Bailey was unable to finish her first run, while Caroline Bartlett, who was 14th after one run, did not complete the course on run number two.
