Arthur, Unkovskoy & Moritz Tally All-American Nods

The Middlebury alpine skiing team tallied three All-American honors at the NCAA Championships. Julian Arthur and Nicholas Unkovskoy tallied first-team accolades, while Kjersti Moritz earned a spot on the second team.

HONOREE HIGHLIGHTS

  • Arthur (First Team)
    • Arthur excelled in the slalom last Saturday, completing his two trips down the mountain in 1:34.02 to secure runner-up honors.
    • His time trailed Dartmouth's Oscar Zimmer by 0.25 seconds.
    • The Panther became the highest male finisher in the discipline since David Donaldson '13 claimed second at the 2013 championships, hosted by Middlebury.
    • Arthur, the EISA Rookie of the Year, secured four top-five finishes throughout the season.
  • Unkovskoy (First Team)
    • Unkovskoy tallies his initial All-American laurel.
    • The junior rose to the top of the giant slalom (GS) leaderboard with his second-run time of 57.56 seconds with eight athletes remaining. The Panther held on to a top-three spot with a combined clocking of 1:56.10.
    • He is the program's highest GS male finisher since Rob Cone '17 earned the title at the 2015 championships in Lake Placid, New York.
    • Unkovskoy tallied eight top-10 finishes in his third campaign as a Panther.
  • Moritz (Second Team)
    • Earning her first All-American nod is Moritz.
    • She shaved nearly four seconds off her initial run with a time of 1:01.22 during the GS. Her combined effort of 2:06.16 slotted sixth in the final standings.
    • Moritz became the first Middlebury female skier to earn All-American honors in their debut on the NCAA stage since Ali Nullmeyer '23 also claimed sixth at the 2020 championships in Montana.
    • The Panther finished sixth or better in the four GS events that she competed in.

The Panthers now have 105 All-American selections and finished seventh at the NCAA Championships, extending their streak of top-10 placings at the national invite to seven consecutive campaigns.
