The Middlebury ski team wrapped up action at the University of Vermont Carnival on Saturday, placing fourth overall with 645 points. Dartmouth won the event (969), followed by UVM (932) and UNH (701). The men's nordic team placed three racers in the top nine to capture the men's 10K classical race. Nordic races were held at the Trapp Family Lodge, while the alpine events took place at the Stowe Mountain Resort. Both teams return to action next Friday and Saturday at the Dartmouth Carnival.

Leading the men's team to the victory in the 10K classic was Peter Wolter, who crossed the line in third place with a time of 27:04. Adam Luban was three spots back in sixth place with a time of 27:10. Sam Wood was the team's final scorer, earning a time of 27:22 to place ninth overall. Lewis Nottonson also turned in an impressive performance, coming in 12th in the 64-man field in 27:33.

The women's squad earned a solid third-place finish in the 5K classical race. Katie Feldman led the Panthers in seventh place, moving past the finish line in 15:20. A day after her career-best finish of 19th, Alexandra Lawson improved by 10 spots to place ninth with a time of 15:25. Rounding out the scorers was Cate Brams, who earned a time of 15:26 to finish 11th overall.

On the alpine side, the Middlebury women were paced by a couple of top 10 finishes. Lucia Bailey placed ninth overall in the slalom with a time of 1:53.57 to lead the duo. Not far behind was Caroline Bartlett, who crossed the line with a combined time of 1:54.24 to finish 10th overall. Lexi Calcagni completed the scorers in 21st place, earning a time of 1:57.08 on the afternoon.

Pacing the men was Erik Arvidsson, who improved on his career-best finish by placing third (1:47.61) after coming in eight in the GS on Friday. Earning a time of 1:50.70 was Riley Plant, who turned in a 14th-place finish.
