The Middlebury women's hockey team completed a very successful swing through Massachusetts on Saturday, as the Panthers recorded their second 5-0 triumph in as many days defeating 10th-ranked Endicott. Middlebury also won 5-0 at UMass Boston on Friday. The seventh-ranked Panthers (8-3-1) return to NESCAC play next weekend, hosting Bowdoin for a two-game series on Friday and Saturday.

Saturday's game marked the seventh time in the team's 12 games this season it has faced an opponent ranked nationally in the top 10.

In the first period, the visitors claimed an early lead, as Elizabeth Wulf continued her hot streak. Wulf batted in a rebound on a shot by Katherine Jackson from the left circle 3:40 into the contest. The goal extended Wulf's point streak to six games (4-4-8). The hosts had an opportunity to pull even with a power play midway through the period, but Panther goalie Lin Han made back-to-back stops on Caroline Hughes and Courtney Walpole to keep the score 1-0.

The Gulls had a quality scoring chance to pull even midway through the second stanza, when Ellen Carter had a partial breakaway from the right side. Han stood her ground and made the save. The Panthers tacked on another goal late in the frame, on a tally from Madie Leidt. Leidt carried the puck into the Endicott zone from the left wing and cut across the high slot, before putting a shot past Gull goalie Vendela Jonsson from the right circle.

The Panthers had a fast start in the final period, scoring twice in the opening two minutes. Leidt wristed a shot in from the left circle 54 seconds into the new period and just 1:04 later, Maddie Winslow tallied on a breakaway after a nice lead pass from Janka Hlinka. Jackson closed out the scoring with 4:23 remaining, as the Panthers recorded their second-straight shutout.

Han made 16 saves for her team-leading third shutout of the season, while Jonsson recorded 28 saves for the Gulls. Middlebury boasted a 33-16 edge in shots and both team's power-play units were held off the scoreboard, with the Panthers getting four chances and Endicott three.
