The Middlebury women's golf team opened up its spring season with a fifth-place finish among 12 teams at the Vassar College Invitational. Action took place at the Casperkill Golf Club in Poughkeepsie, New York. Williams won the event with a 621 (321-300), while the Panthers came in with a 659 (334-325). Middlebury returns to action next weekend at Amherst for the Jack Leaman Invitational.
Chloe Levins paced the team in a tie for 16th-place overall, coming in with a 162 (82-80). Katharine Fortin took nine strokes off her day one score, carding a combined total of 165 (87-78), good for a tie for 19th. Blake Yaccino was tied with Fortin with a 165 (83-82), followed by Hope Matthews, who shot a 167 (82-85). Rounding out the team was Theodora Yoch, who finished her 36 holes with a 176 (90-86). Also competing for Middlebury was Helen Dailey, who shot a two-day total of 174 (89-85).
