#5 Middlebury Continues Strong Fall Campaign With Win at Williams Fall Invitational

Teegan Duffy fired a career-low 72 during Sunday's round.
The fifth-ranked Middlebury women's golf team continued its stellar start to the season, earning a team title for the third time by winning the Williams Fall Invitational by a stroke with a 36-hole score of 598. The eighth-ranked Ephs claimed runner-up honors (599), while #7 Amherst (611) finished in third place.

HIGHLIGHTS
  • Teegan Duffy bettered her opening-round score by one stroke on Sunday's second trip around the course. The Panther carded a career-low 145 to claim second place, with three birdies during the final round.
  • Tallying a tie for sixth place was the Panther tandem of Season Wei and Julia Hua along with Babson's Katie Yang. The Middlebury duo shot matching 74s on day one and a pair of 76s during round-two competition. 
  • Ella Han recorded efforts of 76 and 78 for a score of 154 to slot into a tie for 16th with six other competitors.
  • Lucy Wang completed the Middlebury contributors, firing a 36-hole effort of (86-77-163) and climbed 13 spots in Sunday's final round to tie for 42nd. 
NOTES
  • Duffy shaved four strokes off her career best and posted a collegiate-low round of 72 on Sunday.
  • The Panthers posted 18 birdies across the two days, highlighted by 12 in Saturday's opening slate. 
Middlebury returns to action next weekend when it travels to Connecticut for the Wesleyan Fall Invitational. Competition is slated to begin on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. and Sunday at 8:30 a.m.
