Sixth-ranked Middlebury scored three times in the third period, breaking a 1-1 tie as the Panthers completed a two-game NESCAC sweep of Trinity with a 4-1 win Saturday. Middlebury (2-0-0, 2-0-0) returns to the ice on Saturday, facing Elmira in the opening round of the UNO Classic in Plattsburgh, New York, while the Bantams (0-2-0, 0-2-0) travel to Buffalo State the same day.

In the opening period, a Trinity power play produced quality chances for both teams just over six minutes into the contest. Middlebury goalie Lin Han thwarted a pair of shots from close range by Taylor Peracchio, while Bantam net minder Sydney Belinskas used her right pad to deny Maddie Winslow on a shorthanded breakaway.

The Bantams struck for the first goal with 1:17 left in the period, as Peracchio knocked in a centering pass from Abigail Riskevich on a play that started on a two-on-one. The hosts answered with 10.4 seconds on the clock, when Katherine Jackson banged in a rebound at the left post on a shot from the point by Anna Zumwinkle.

The chances were bunched together in the middle stanza, with the Panthers getting a good opportunity just past the 10-minute mark. Elise Park rushed the net, taking a shot that Belinskas stopped, while Jessica Young trailed the play and lifted the rebound over the crossbar. The Bantams countered seconds later when Olivia White's shot was saved by Han, with Kelcie Finn sending the rebound just past the left post as the teams remained tied at the second intermission.

The hosts took the lead 1:35 into the final period when Madie Leidt netted her first collegiate goal. She one-timed a pass from Jessica Young, with the assist being Young's 100th career point as a Panther (46-54-100). Middlebury made it a 3-1 game with 3:24 left, as Jackson netted her second of the game on a feed from Winslow as the duo completed a give-and-go on a two-on-one rush. Leidt finished the scoring with an empty-net tally with 30.8 seconds remaining.

Han made 20 saves for the victory, stopping 47-48 shots over the two games. Belinskas made 35 saves for the Bantams, as Middlebury held a 39-21 advantage in shots. Middlebury was 0-1 on the power play with Trinity going scoreless in three attempts. For weekend, the Panthers erased all 10 Bantam power plays.
