Women's Golf Finishes Second at George Phinney Classic

The Middlebury women's golf team placed second among 12 teams at the George Phinney Golf Classic at the Ralph Myhre Golf Course. Amherst trailed by a stroke after Saturday's play, picking up the win with a two-day total of 638. The Panthers were next (641), with Williams a distant third (653).

Katharine Fortin fired a 75 on day two, coming in with a two-day total of 156, good enough for medalist honors as the top overall finisher. Tying for seventh place was Chloe Levins, who finished with a 160 (76-84), while Helen Dailey's 163 (81-82) put her in a tie for 12th place. One stroke back in a tie for 14th was Hope Matthews with a 164 (82-82), while Blake Yaccino rounded out the squad in 16th place overall (83-82-165).
