The Middlebury women's golf team placed fourth among 14 teams taking part in the Mount Holyoke Invitational at the Orchards Golf Club. Williams won the event with a two-day total of 601, followed by Amherst (621), New York University (623) and the Panthers (628). Middlebury returns to action next weekend at the Williams Fall Classic.
Blake Yaccino led the Panther five, finishing in sixth place with a 79 and a 74 for a 153 among 85 golfers. Katharine Fortin carded a pair of 77s to tie for seventh with a 154, while Chloe Levins placed 26th with a 162 (82-80). Rounding out the squad were Theodora Yoch (85-78-163) and Helen Dailey (88-76-164).
Also competing for the Panthers were Hope Matthews, who tied for 20th (77-83-160) and Sarah Breckinridge (91-95-186).
