The Middlebury women's golf team opened up its fall season with a victory at the Utica Fall Invitational. The Panthers shot a two-day total of 633 to pace the eight-team field. Hamilton (644) was second, followed by St. Lawrence (375) in third place. Action was contested at the 5,847-yard, par-73 Yahnundasis Golf Club.
Katharine Fortin took home medalist honors besting the field by five strokes with a pair of 76s for a 152. Tying for second place with a 157 (78-79) was Hope Matthews, followed closely by Lilia Everson in fifth place (81-78-159). Helen Dailey just missed the top-10 with a 170 (87-83) to place 11th, while Theodora Yoch rounded out the squad with a 180 (82-98).
