The Middlebury women's golf team opened the spring portion of its schedule at the Vassar College Invitational on Saturday, finishing the day in fourth place with a score of 335. Williams and Amherst are tied for the team lead at 322, while Cortland State is third at 329. The event, which features 12 teams, is being held at the par 72, 5,849 yard Casperkill Golf Club in Poughkeepsie, New York. Action continues on Sunday with the final 18 holes.
Monica Chow led the Panthers with a 79 on day one, sitting in a tie for third on the leaderboard. Helen Dailey shot an 84 and is tied for 13th, while Katharine Fortin fired an 85 to put her in a tie for 16th. Next for Middlebury was Hope Matthews (87), who is tied for 24th, while Lilia Everson (90) rounded out the scorers in a tie for 33rd among the 62 golfers competing.
