Colin Hayes paced the alpine side with a win in the slalom, while Annie Pokorny was victorious for the women's nordic squad in the 5K pursuit at the Williams Carnival. The University of Vermont won the competition with 992 points, followed by Dartmouth (919), UNH (720) and the Panthers (638). Alpine races were contested at Jiminy Peak in Hancock, Massachusetts, while the nordic races were held at the Ski Jump Venue at Lake Placid, New York. Middlebury returns to action next weekend when it hosts its own carnival which doubles as the EISA Championships.

Hayes earned his first career carnival win for Middlebury, taking home the crown in the slalom event with a combined time of 1:59.58. Ghassan Gedeon Achi earned a top-10 finish in seventh place with a two-run time of 2:01.35. Christopher McKenna was the third Panther to finish, crossing the line with a time of 2:03.88 to finish 25th.

Pacing the alpine women was Caroline Bartlett, who placed 12th overall with a combined time of 2:01. Elle Gilbert followed in 23rd place (2:04.35), while Katy Greene was 35th (2:10.20).

Pokorny's win in the 5K classic pursuit was her first victory of the season, with five races under her belt. She completed the event in 44:04, besting her nearest opponent by nine seconds. Alia Johnson turned in her best performance of the season in the race, finishing in 18th place with a time of 46:47. Cate Brams was four spots back in 22nd place overall, finishing with a time of 46:51.

On the men's side, Lewis Nottonson led the Panthers with an 18th-place effort, completing the men's 5K classic pursuit race in 39:46. Next up for Middlebury was Jacob Volz, who crossed the line in 26th place with a time of 40:35. The final scorer for the Panthers was Evan Weinman, who earned a time of 40:31 to finish in 29th place.
