The Middlebury cross country teams took part in the NCAA Championship meets hosted by Spalding University and the Louisville Sports Commission at E.P. Tom Sawyer Park in Louisville, Kentucky. The Panther women finished 14th among 32 teams, while the men's squad was 24th in a 32-team race. Abigail Nadler earned All-American honors with her 15th-place finish. The Johns Hopkins women and the North Central (Ill.) men each took home team national crowns.
Nadler led the Panther women, covering the course with a time of 21:02.6. She is a two-time All-American after her 18th-place effort in 2015. Next for Middlebury was Sasha Whittle in 107th place (21:02.0), followed by Catie Skinner, who took home 123rd place (22:05.8). Placing 182nd in the race was Meg Wilson with a time of 22:30.0, while Katherine MacCary was 193rd overall in 22:34.7 to wrap up the Panther scorers. Also competing for Middlebury were Isabella Alfaro (238th, 22:59.7) and Alexis Jakubowski (249th, 23:11.6).
On the men's side, Brian Rich paced the squad in 71st place, crossing the line over the 8K course with a time of 25:15.7. Next for the Panthers were Ascencion Aispuro in 118th place (25:29.5), followed by Kevin Serrao in 205th place (26:11.6). Brendan Wood finished right behind Serrao in 207th place with a time of 26:12.2, while Harrison Knowlton rounded out the Middlebury scorers in 217th place (26:19.0). Also competing at the race for the Panthers were Miles Meijer in 249th place (26:40.6) and Connor Evans in 272nd place (27:39.6).
