#5 Women’s Cross Country Claims Runner-Up Spot at Aldrich Invitational

The Panthers get ready to start at this year's Aldrich Invitational.

The fifth-ranked Middlebury women's cross country team slotted second with 43 points in the 15th Annual Aldrich Invitational. Second-ranked Williams took home the top spot with 22 points, while #6 Tufts scored 67 points for third place.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Audrey MacLean was the first Panther to cross the finish line, earning third place with a time of 22:38.2.
  • Close behind were Annelise Jensen and Claire Palmer. Jensen claimed fifth (22:50.8), while Palmer slotted sixth (22:50.9)
  • Annecy Vlieks and MK Cestaro each climbed nine spots over the final split. Vlieks tallied a clocking of 23:17.4 to secure 14th place. Cestaro finished a tenth of a second behind (23:17.5) for 15th.

NOTES

  • It marks the eighth-consecutive year that the Panthers have had all five scorers finish in the top 15.
  • The invitational is named after Middlebury Athletics Hall of Famer Terry Aldrich. He served as the head men's and women's cross country coach from 1975 to 2010, leading the program to six NCAA championships and 11 NESCAC titles.

The Panthers head to New Hampshire for the Maribel Sanchez Souther Invitational hosted by Dartmouth College. Action begins on Saturday at 11:45 a.m.
