The Polar Bears (3-2, 2-2) scored nearly 21 minutes into the game and made it stand for the final 69 minutes. The Panthers (2-3-1, 1-2-1) return to action at Keene State on Wednesday night.

McCarthy made four saves in the opening half to keep the visitors off the board. Reinmuth made a pair of saves in the first 29:59 before being relieved by Emily Eslinger for the remainder of the game.
Eslinger stopped three shots to keep Middlebury within one through the final 60 minutes of play. McCarthy tallied two more saves in the second half, including a shot from Adrianna Gildner with 4:10 remaining. Bowdoin held a 4-2 edge in corner kicks and 12-9 shot advantage.
