Five Panthers received United Soccer Coaches All-Region praise, the most for the program since 2019.
Five members of the 12th-ranked Middlebury women's soccer team were selected to the United Soccer Coaches All-Region teams.
Gigi Day and
Stella Espinasse received first-team nods, while
Livia Davidson was named a second-team selection.
Wynne Braemer and
Roshann Purcell closed out the Panther honorees, tallying third-team recognition.
HONOREE HIGHLIGHTS
- Day (First Team)
- Day garners her first all-region nod as a Panther.
- The junior tallied her third career all-conference award with a second-team spot. She was named the league's co-rookie of the year and an All-NESCAC Second Team selection in 2023.
- Day shared third on the team with three goals this season. Each tally was of the game-winning variety.
- The midfielder appeared in all 20 matches with 18 starts, slotting fifth with 1,480 minutes played.
- Day also landed on the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District squad for the second-straight campaign.
- Espinasse (First Team)
- The junior claims her initial regional accolade.
- Espinasse finished second on the team with three helpers.
- She started 18 of 20 contests and was one of four players to eclipse 1,500 minutes this fall.
- The California native became the 46th All-NESCAC First Team selection in program history while being tabbed to the CSC All-District team.
- Davidson (Second Team)
- Davidson follows up her first all-conference honor with her initial regional recognition.
- In her senior campaign, the goalie posted an 11-4-3 mark and recorded six shutouts in nearly 1,380 minutes of action.
- The Panther led the league and ranked 11th among her Division III peers in save percentage (.893).
- Davidson conceded just nine tallies, the second-fewest in the NESCAC.
- She also earned academic praise from CSC.
- Braemer (Third Team)
- Braemer caps her rookie season with an all-region third-team selection.
- The defender also earned an all-conference second-team selection after featuring in a Middlebury backline that ranked third in the NESCAC in goals against average (GAA) at 0.55 and recorded 12 clean sheets.
- Braemer finished third in minutes played (1,555) and started in 17 of her 19 outings.
- Purcell (Third Team)
- Purcell secured All-NESCAC Second Team and all-region third recognition in her final season with the navy and white.
- The Panther finished second on the squad with 1,565 minutes and was the lone player to make all 20 possible starts.
- Along with her defensive efforts, Purcell added the third marker and second helper of her Middlebury tenure.
- She joins Davidson, Day and Espinasse as a CSC Academic All-District honoree.
The United Soccer Coaches will announce the All-America honorees on Thursday, December 4.
