The Middlebury women's golf team opened up its fall season with a fifth-place finish among 12 teams at the NYU Invitational. Williams won the event with a two-day total of 614, followed by NYU (621), Randolph-Macon (638), Amherst (642) and Middlebury (659). Action took place at the Spook Rock Golf Course in Suffern, New York.
Katharine Fortin was Middlebury's top finisher, placing sixth overall with a two-day total of 154 (78-76). Next for the Panthers was Hope Matthews, who tied for 13th place firing a total of 159 (82-77). Monica Chow tied for 27th at the event with a 170 (86-84), while Lilia Everson followed with a 176 (92-84). Rounding out the Panther scorers was Helen Dailey, who shot a 182 (92-90).
