Williams captured the 32nd Annual Duke Nelson Tournament hosted by Middlebury College. The Ephs shot a 309 on day two to finish with a 614, five strokes ahead of Babson (619). Rensselaer (622) placed third, followed by Salem State (523) and the Panthers in ninth (629). Action took place at the par-71 Ralph Myhre Golf Course on the Middlebury campus. Middlebury returns to action next weekend at the NESCAC Qualifier hosted by Williams.
Jacob Watt-Moris of Williams took home medalist honors, firing a 69 on day one followed by a 79 for a two-day total of 148.
Middlebury took 11 strokes off its day one score with a 309 on Sunday, finishing with a 629. Rodrigo Andrade led the team with a ninth-place finish, following a 78 on Saturday with a 73 on Sunday to finish with a 151. Reid Buzby was next with a 157 (78-79), good for a 22nd-place tie, while Bennett Doherty tied for 39th with a 159 (82-77). Joe Ko shot a 162 (82-80), while Ben Bichet came in with a 170 (86-84) to round out the host team.
The Middlebury "blue" team also competed at the event, with the four golfers coming in with an impressive score of 625, placing them in a fifth-place tie. Scott Guidotti was the group's top finisher, shooting a 149 (73-76), just one stroke off medalist honors. Philippe Morin was next with a 153 (76-77), followed by a 158 (80-78) from Eduardo Ramos. Graham Kenter rounded out the group with a 165 (86-79).
