Men’s Golf Preps For Final Day of League Invite

Julian Galindo Macias shaved four strokes off his total from Friday's opening round.

The Middlebury men's golf team posted a second-round score of 316 to hold in seventh place (631) entering the final day of the NESCAC Championship. Tufts leads the way with a 586, while Williams is second with a score of 588. Trinity owns third at 602.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Jake Forrest resides in a tie for 11th place with five golfers after the initial two rounds, holding a 36-hole score of 151. Forrest shot a three-over 74 on Saturday, logging three birdies in the first five holes to pace the Panthers.
  • Evan Fulgieri and Julian Galindo Macias share 29th alongside a quintet of other competitors at 160. Fulgieri matched his 80 from the first round, while Galindo Macias shaved four strokes from his first 18 holes to log a 78.
  • Charlie Schulman is tied for 36th with a 162, while Nathan Keshen shot an 84 to sit in a three-way tie for 41st. 

NOTES

  • Forrest's 151 marks his best two-round tally in a Middlebury uniform.
  • The squad logged seven birdies over the day. 

The teams return to the course for the final round of the championship on Sunday morning.
