COMPLETE LIST OF DIVISION III OF ITA ALL-ACADEMIC AWARD WINNERS
Led by seven Intercollegiate Tennis Association Scholar-Athletes, the Middlebury women's tennis team earned a 2015 ITA All-Academic Award for their hard work in the classroom.
The seven Panthers to earn individual honors featured a trio of juniors, two sophomores, a senior and a first-year player. The three players from the class of 2016 included Lauren Amos (Tucson, Ariz.), Margot Marchese (Summit, N.J.) and Sadie Shackelford (Sewanee, Tenn.). Second-year players Alexandra Fields (Coral Gables, Fla.) and Kaysee Orozco (New Milford, N.J.) along with graduate Katie Paradies (Atlanta, Ga.) and rookie Shannon Gibbs (West Des Moines, Iowa) round out the individual honorees for Middlebury.
The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above (on a 4.00 scale). Scholar-Athlete status is awarded to those that have completed at least two collegiate semesters and maintained a GPA of at least 3.5 during the academic year.
Middlebury (11-7) finished the 2014-15 campaign ranked #5 in the final ITA National Poll. The squad posted a thrilling 5-4 come-from-behind victory in the NCAA regional final and advanced to the tournament's quarterfinals before falling to #2 Emory by a 5-1 tally.
