Men's Golf Places Fourth At Duke Nelson

Trailing by four strokes after 18 holes, Rensselaer shaved 14 shots off their day one score to capture the 31st Annual Duke Nelson Tournament hosted by Middlebury College. The Engineers shot a 296 on day two, finishing with a two-day total of 605. James Jackson led the squad, earning medalist honors with a 146 (74-72). Action took place at the par-71 Ralph Myhre Golf Course on the Middlebury campus. 

Trinity had the best second round, taking 26 strokes off their day one total with a 291 on Sunday, the best of any squad. The Bantams finished in second overall with a 608, followed by Rochester (615) and Middlebury (316).

The host school led after one day, but fell to fourth place after adding 11 strokes to its day one total. Fitz Bowen led the Panthers with a sixth-place tie by shooting a 151 (76-75). Tying for 20th was John Louie (77-80) with a 157, followed closely by Eric Laorr (76-82), who shot a 158. Chris Atwood (76-84-160) and Charlie Garcia (82-79-161) rounded out the Panther squad.
