The Middlebury cross country teams took part in the ECAC Championships at Stanley Park hosted by Westfield State in Massachusetts. In an event where both teams rested their top runners, the third-ranked Panther women finished third with 85 points behind sixth-ranked Williams (48) and the University of New England (60) in the 48-team race. The Middlebury men finished the event sixth among 43 teams competing.

Erzsie Nagy led five Panthers inside the top-26 to the line, completing the 6,000-meter course in 22:41 for 10th place. Seven seconds behind Nagy was Caroline Guiot in 12th (22:48.07), while Emma DeCamp was on her heels in 13th (22:53.04). Sasha Whittle was the fourth Panther to cross the line in 24th place (23:19.22), while Liesel Robbins rounded out the scorers in 26th (23:25.99). In a race that featured 338 runners, Alyssa Taylor didn't factor into the team score, but posted an impressive 37th-place finish (23:38.96).

Ascencion Aispuro led the 12th-ranked men's squad, covering the 8K course with a time of 26:14.81, good for 19th place. Next to cross the line for the Panthers was Matt Gillis in 25th place (26:24.81), while Peter Elkind stopped the clock in 44th (26:48.31). Tim McGovern finished the event in 46th place (26:50.67), while Derek Satterfield rounded out the men's scorers in a field of 303 participants with a 74th-place finish (27:17.97).

The Panthers will return to the course next Saturday when they participate in the NCAA Regional hosted by Williams. The men take to the course at 11:00 a.m., while the women run at 12:30 p.m.
