The Middlebury cross country teams took part in the 2014 NCAA Championships hosted by Wilmington College (Ohio) and the Warren County Convention and Visitor's Bureau. The races were contested at the Golf Center at King's Island in Mason, Ohio. The Middlebury women finished the day sixth among 32 teams, while the Panther men were 13th among 32 competing squads.
Alison Maxwell and Summer Spillane were Middlebury's top-two finishers at the event. Maxwell, the NESCAC Champion, placed 33rd overall with a time of 22:25. Spillane wasn't far behind, coming in 35th in 22:27. Next for the Panthers was Adrian Walsh in 65th place (22:57), followed by Katie Carlson, who came in 74th overall with a time of 23:03. Placing 88th was Caroline Guiot (23:09), followed by Olivia Artaiz in 165th (23:40) and Erzsie Nagy in 263rd (24:54).
The men's team placed 13th overall among 32 scoring teams at the championship. North Central won the title with 130 points, while the Panthers finished with 416. Kevin Wood was Middlebury's top finisher at the meet, placing 34th overall with a time of 24:36. Wilder Schaaf was next for the Panthers with a 40th-place effort in 24:44. Sebastian Matt crossed the line in 109th place in 25:25, followed by Sam Cartwright, who came in 171st with a time of 25:44. Jacob Fox came in 193rd (25:52), Brian Rich was 232nd, while Ascencion Aispuro was 279th (27:54) to round out the Middlebury racers.
