Box Score Middlebury scored a pair of first-half goals on its way to a road win at Hamilton Sunday at Love Field. The Continentals are now 5-5-1 overall with a 1-5-1 record in NESCAC play. The Panthers raised their record to 6-2-3 overall and 3-2-3 in the league. Middlebury returns to action on Saturday when its hosts Bates.
The Panthers capitalized on a turnover to take the lead just 97 seconds into play. Adam Glaser stole a pass outside the Hamilton box and started a give-and-go on the left side with Greg Conrad, resulting in Glaser's sixth goal of the season.
Conrad scored Middlebury's second goal, taking a pass from Dan Skayne above the box in the 29th minute. Conrad quickly sent a long curling shot into the top right of the net for his fourth goal.
The Continentals outshot Middlebury 13-11 but put only two of their shots on goal. They had a chance at the tying goal just over 12 minutes in following a corner kick by Alec Talsania. Middlebury goalkeeper Greg Sydor punched Talsania's ball out of traffic but the rebound landed at the feet of Bayard Geeslin, who executed a bicycle kick that was blocked by the Panther defense. Geeslin had another opportunity 10 minutes before intermission when he collected a free kick taken by Erich Marcks but that shot was blocked as well.
Harris Pollack finished with four saves including a spectacular stop late in the first half when he made a one-handed save of a volley by Kirk Horton following a long corner kick by Noah Goss-Woliner. Sydor made two saves to earn the shutout.
