The Middlebury country teams took part in the 2013 NCAA Championship races hosted by Hanover College in Hanover, Indiana. The Panther women finished third overall at the championship, while the men earned a school-best seventh-place finish. Johns Hopkins won the 32-team women's title with 85 points, followed by Williams (137) and Middlebury (185). The 32-team men's event was captured by St. Olaf (84), who narrowly edged North Central (86), while the Panthers totaled 297 points.

The top finish of the day came from the sixth-ranked Panther men, as Greg Krathwohl earned a 16th-place finish with a time of 25:05. Kevin Wood was next, coming in 46th with a time of 25:30 in the 275-man race. Nate Sans and Sebastian Matt followed for Middlebury, finishing two seconds apart in 109th (25:58) and 112th (26:00), respectively. Wilder Schaaf rounded out the team's scorers with a 125th-place finish in 26:05. Also competing for Middlebury were Sam Craft (205th-26:36) and Luke Carpinello (238th-26:58).

The second-ranked women were paced by a 36th-place effort from Alison Maxwell, who covered the course in 22:00. Seven seconds behind was Erzsie Nagy, who finished the 280-woman race in 42nd place with a time of 22:07. Middlebury's next four finishers placed just eight spots apart. Emily Singer led the group in 58th place (22:17), followed by Katie Rominger in 61st (22:19). Katherine Tercek was the team's final scorer in 65th place (22:20), followed by Summer Spillane in 67th place (22:22) overall. Middlebury's final racer was Sarah Guth, who came in 172nd with a time of 23:08.
