The Middlebury women's tennis team ended its regular season with a 5-4 loss at #3 Amherst on Sunday afternoon. The seventh-ranked Panthers fall to 13-2 on the season, while the Jeffs improve to 13-3. Middlebury fell in a big hole early, dropping all three doubles matches with tight competition throughout. The Panthers took four of six singles matches, but could not overcome the Jeffs.

Amherst went up 4-0 when Safi Aly defeated Dorrie Paradies 7-5, 6-1 in the fifth spot. The Panthers then ran off four straight singles matches to tie the contest at 4-4. Lok-Sze Leung was a 6-4, 6-1 winner at #1, while Brittany Faber  earned a 6-2, 7-6 (5) win at #4 to make it a 4-2 match. Leah Kepping continued the momentum with a 7-5, 6-2 victory at #3, while Katie Paradies tied the match at #6 with a 6-2, 6-2 win.

The match came down to the #2 singles contest, where Jennifer Newman edged Victoria Aiello 6-4, 7-6 (3) to seal the win.
