Women's Tennis Topped By Amherst

Amherst finished the NESCAC regular season unbeaten as the top-ranked Jeffs (15-1, 8-0) defeated #10 Middlebury (9-4, 4-3) by a score of 8-1. The Jeffs win their 11th-straight match, while the Panthers have now dropped three of four. Both teams return to action this weekend when Middlebury hosts the 2011 NESCAC Championship.

Two of three doubles matches were very tight, with Amherst's Jordan Brewer and Gabby Devlin picking up a 9-7 win over Brittany Faber and Leah Kepping. At #2, Natasha Brown and Mimi Bell edged Panthers Victoria Aiello and Anna Burke, 8-6. Middlebury's lone singles win came at #2, where Kepping earned a 6-3, 6-3 win over Carlissa King. In others singles action, Laken King of Amherst picked up a tight three-set win over Burke at #5, 6-7 (1), 7-6 (1), 10-4.
