Cross Country Open New England's

The Panther cross country teams both continue to race well this season, turning in solid performances at the Open New England Championships at Franklin Park in Boston. The women finished the all-division race in ninth place among 49 schools, while the men came in 14th among 47 institutions competing.

Pacing the women in the race was junior Sophia Spring (Croton-on-Hudson, N.Y.), who finished the race 39th overall with a time of 18:44. Next for the Panthers in 48th place was junior Erin Toner (New Providence, N.J.), who finished with a time of 18:50. Sophomore Margo Cramer (Seattle, Wash.) finished in 50th place in 18:52, followed by first-year racer Addie Tousley (Kensington, Md.) in 60th (19:00) and sophomore Claire McIlvennie (Ithaca, N.Y.) in 64th place (19:02).

Sophomore Michael Schmidt (Wilmette, Ill.) was Middlebury's top finisher on the men's side, completing the race in 25:16, good for 20th place overall. Senior Victor Guevara (Short Hills, N.J.) was next for Middlebury in 89th place (26:08), followed by junior Jack Terrett (Sherborn, Mass.) in 98th (26:12). Senior Michael Waters (Bedford, Mass.) placed 100th (26:13), while first-year racer Jack Davies (Grosse Point, Mich.) came in 125th (26:23) to wrap up the Middlebury scorers.
