Cross Country Races At ECAC's

The Middlebury College cross country teams both raced at the ECAC Championship races last weekend. Despite resting some of their top runners, the Middlebury men and women both placed third overall in races that featured over 40 schools.

Sophomore Sophia Spring (Croton-on-Hudson, N.Y.) led the Middlebury women with a third place finish overall in 23:42. Placing 11th was first-year racer Georgia Wright-Simmonds (Grinnell, Iowa) in 24:02, followed by sophomore Kaitlynn Saldanha (Scarborough, Maine) in 27th (24:52) and rookie Jessica Stevens (Indianpolis, Ind.) in 28th (24:52). Sophomore Christina Kunycky (Marlborough, Mass.) rounded out Middlebury scorers with a 66th place finish in 25:47.

The men's squad saw junior Victor Guevara (Short Hills, N.J.) lead the team with a 19th place finish in 27:15. Placing 28th in the race was sophomore Donovan Dickson (Austin, Texas) with a time of 27:33, followed by junior Christopher Free (Wallingford, Pa.) in 31st (27:37). Rookie runner Sam Miller (Needham, Mass.) was just behind Dickson in 32nd place with a time of 27:40, followed by sophomore Nat Nelson (Concord, N.H.) in 34th (27:41).
