Women's Cross Country Wins NCAA Regional - Men Place Sixth

The Panther cross country team were impressive at the NCAA New England Regional hosted by Williams on Saturday. The women captured the 49-team event to win the NCAA Regional and an automatic qualification to the NCAA's. The men's squad turned in one of their best performances in school history, finishing in sixth place in the 49-team race.

Alexandra Krieg led the Middlebury, finishing the 330-woman race in third place with a time of 22:34. Placing ninth overall was Elise Moody-Roberts in 23:08, followed closely by Hannah Meier in 10th place (23:10). Cate Brown finished the event in 13th (23:12) place for the Panthers, while Margo Cramer rounded out the scorers in 22nd place (23:41). All five earned All-New England honors, as well as Claire McIlvennie.

Michael Schmidt paced the Panther men, finishing the race in 27th place with a time of 27:00. Coming in 38th in 27:11 was Peter Hoffman, followed by Rainey Johnson in 40th place (27:16). Placing 58th for Middlebury was Jack Terrett (27:48), while Stanis Moody-Roberts finished the race in 59th place (27:34). Based on his finish, Schmidt earned All-New England honors.
