The Panther women's golf team returned to action this spring by capturing the 12-team Jack Leaman Women's Championship hosted by Amherst over the weekend.

Leading the Panthers were senior Sally Hartman (Tulsa, Ok.) and junior Heather Gallagher (Toronto, Ont.), who both placed third overall with an 82, two shots off the lead. Middlebury's other two golfers finished in a tie for 13^th, as both sophomore Karen Levin (Morton Grove, Ill.) and rookie Julie Ellenberger (Concord, Mass.) each shot an 87.
