9/24/05 - The Panther women's cross country team took part in the Purple Valley Classic hosted by Williams last weekend, finishing the race third of eight teams.

Junior Andrea Giddings (S. Portland, Maine) led the women's team with a third place finish in 19:06, 13 seconds off the winning pace. Placing eighth in the race was junior Makely Lyon (Portland, Ore.) with a time of 19:16, followed closely by first-year racer Alexandra Krieg (Wellesley, Mass.), who finished in 19:17. Rounding out Middlebury's scorers were senior Kelsey Rinehart (Moorestown, N.J.) in 19th (20:00) and junior Erin Archard (Vienna, Maine) in 20th (20:03).
