Men's Basketball Falls To Tufts In OT

Middlebury suffered a heart-breaking NESCAC loss as they fell to Tufts, 91-82 in overtime in the Pepin Gym. The Panthers fall to 1-3 in NESCAC play and will host Johnson on Wednesday at 7:30.

Middlebury played strong in the first half, leading by as many as nine points. Tufts came back to take a one-point halftime advantage, 39-38. The second half was even early, but the Jumbos went on a lengthy 24-8 run to take a 69-60 lead with 6:25 left to play. Middlebury came back late with a 7-0 run at the 3:30 mark to earn one-point lead. Tufts had a chance to win it at the buzzer, but their shot missed forcing the game into overtime. Tufts took control in the OT, outscoring Middlebury 15-6 on its way to the win.

Mike Salek led Middlebury in scoring with 22 points and five three's, while Bobby Marcoux added 19 points. Clark Read scored 16 in the game, Simon Behan added 11, while Adam Sinoway scored eight and grabbed 10 boards.
