In the consolation game of the Babson Tournament, Middlebury (1-1) edged Oberlin College (0-2) by a score of 55-53. Middlebury senior Clark Read (Pepper Pike, Ohio) drained a three-pointer from deep in the right corner to give his team a 54-49 lead with two minutes remaining, but Oberlin scored the next two baskets to get back to within one with 53 seconds left. Senior co-captain Adam Sinoway (Harrisburg, Pa.) then sank one of two free throws to put Middlebury up, 55-53, with 15.2 ticks remaining. Read paced Middlebury with 13 points and was named to the All-Tournament Team.
