The #1 Middlebury women's lacrosse team scored the initial six goals during Saturday's first quarter and cruised to a 14-5 triumph over #12 Colby. Before the contest, the program recognized seniors

HIGHLIGHTS
- The Panthers opened the scoring with 1:04 expired in the first stanza. Adams dodged down the left side, firing a bid into the right panel for a 1-0 edge.
- Maeve Lee doubled the advantage nearly three minutes later on a free-position goal.
- Adams continued the solid start for Middlebury, completing her hat trick with a free-position marker and a drive from the left alley 45 seconds apart to make it 4-0.
- Hamilton claimed the ensuing draw control and raced to the offensive zone before depositing a shot into the upper-left corner for a 5-0 lead with 7:54 showing on the clock.
- Julia Maimonis tried to get Colby on the board at the 4:32 mark, but goalie Elizabeth Savage slid to her left and denied the rising bid.
- The Panther offense kept roaring, as Adams found Siobhan Colin for a quick-stick tally that found the left panel to make it 6-0 after 15 minutes.
- Savage kept the Mules off the board 36 seconds into the second stanza, denying a point-blank chance from Zoey Verbesey at the top of the crease.
- Middlebury did not let up, as Adams (11:14) and Lach (10:16) found the back of the net 58 seconds apart for an 8-0 contest.
- Messer caused a turnover four minutes later, raced up the field and deposited a shot with 6:41 left for the defender's first goal this spring.
- Lee tallied her second of the day, while Hamilton finished her hat trick with a pair of goals to hold a 12-0 lead at the half.
- Colby looked to score six minutes into the third quarter, but Panther goalie Annie Spring thwarted a rising chance by Emma Greene.
- Middlebury increased its advantage a minute later (13-0) when Hamilton connected with Lach.
- The Mules broke into the scoring column with 11 seconds remaining in the stanza. Ainsley Burke muscled a shot under the crossbar on an assist by Greene.
- A pair of tallies by Verbesey nearly two minutes apart in the early stages of the fourth pulled the visitors within 10 (13-3).
- Maggie Spehr stopped the run with 3:52 left, bouncing her free-position bid into the right panel.
- Verbesey and Greene scored in the final minutes to make the score 14-5.
- The Mules hunted for their sixth goal in the waning seconds, but goalie Grace Smith saved the Verbesey bid with her stick for the nine-goal victory.
NOTES
- Lucy Bishop won seven draw controls, marking the fourth time in the last seven contests that she has accumulated seven.
- The programs met for the 47th time with the Panthers holding a decisive 34-13 advantage in series, and have won the last 11 meetings.
Middlebury returns to action on Wednesday when it hosts Hamilton at 4:00 p.m. The contest will serve as the program's Morgan's Message Game.
