#1 Women’s Lacrosse Breezes By Connecticut College 15-1

The top-ranked Middlebury women's lacrosse team tallied the first 11 goals of Saturday's contest against Connecticut College and held strong defensively to secure a 15-1 triumph.

HIGHLIGHTS
  • The visitors opened the scoring with 2:47 expired in the contest. Siobhan Colin fed a cutting Haley Hamilton for a bouncer in front to establish the early 1-0 edge.
  • A pair of free-position finishes from Maeve Lee pushed the lead to three before Caroline Adams snuck a pass through traffic to Hamilton for a left-panel deposit with 4:58 left that extended the lead to 4-0 through 15 minutes.
  • After a brief scoreless stint to begin the second frame, Hamilton found Skylar Lach on the doorstep for a quick marker into the top-right corner with 11:19 remaining. Just 46 seconds later, a feed from Adams ricocheted off Lach's stick and into the net to widen the lead to six.
  • Hamilton and Maddie Ackerman capitalized on a pair of player-up opportunities over the ensuing four minutes to move ahead 8-0 and prompt a Camel timeout. Lach added two more tallies down the stretch to trigger the running clock and carry a 10-0 advantage into the break.
  • Adams added to the lead with 11:10 left in the third quarter, surging forward on a free-position attempt with an extra player and cutting right before rustling the top-left corner of the goal.
  • Connecticut College scored its first goal at the 8:43 mark of the session. Caroline Villarin wrapped around the crease and rolled a bid across the line for an 11-1 contest.
  • The Panthers blanked their foe over the final 24 minutes and added four goals late to secure the 15-1 triumph.
