The Middlebury volleyball team claimed victory in a tight opening set, before jumping out to commanding leads in sets two and three for a 3-0 triumph over Bowdoin. The Panthers improve to 8-1 in their last nine matches and have recorded eight shutouts this season.

HIGHLIGHTS
- Middlebury raced out to a quick 7-3 lead in the opening set, capped on a kill by Molly Harrison.
- The Polar Bears clawed their way back, knotting the stanza at 8-8 with a point from Lily Janas.
- Deadlocked at 16-16, the Panthers ripped off a 4-1 spurt for a 20-17 edge before taking the opening set (25-19) on a service ace from Gabbie O'Toole.
- Middlebury moved out to a 10-0 advantage in the middle frame, highlighted by three service aces from O'Toole, and was never challenged in a 25-7 triumph.
- In the third stanza, the Panthers continued to ride the momentum and took an 8-0 edge with an ace from O'Toole.
- That lead grew to as many as 12 (21-9) on a kill by Katie Kraczkowsky down the line.
- Bowdoin chipped away at the deficit, cutting it to seven (23-16) on a Panther attack error.
- Middlebury wrapped up the convincing victory with the final two points coming on a kill by Stephanie Mayer and a service ace from Caitlin Smith for the final margin of 25-16 and the straight-set triumph.
NOTES
- O'Toole finished with six service aces, tying for the fifth-best single-match total in program history. For the second-straight day, the Panther tallied 29 assists, pushing her run of posting 20 or more helpers to 63 of 64 career matches.
- Kelly Ferrero amassed 24 digs during the win, giving her 1,228 for her career and moving her into fifth in the program's history.
- The Panthers amassed 46 kills on 112 attempts with just six errors for a .357 percentage, marking the second time this season that the team has eclipsed the .350 mark.
- The programs met for the 38th time with Middlebury pushing its advantage in the series to 26-12 and snapping a six-match Polar Bear winning streak.
The Panthers return to action on Wednesday when they host Union at 7:00 p.m.
