Women's Squash Falls in Kurtz Cup Quarterfinal

The #15 Middlebury women's squash team (8-8) suffered a 9-0 loss to #10 Virginia in a CSA National quarterfinal match. The seventh-seeded Panthers met the second-seeded Cavaliers (15-6) for the second-straight year in the Kurtz Cup (B Division) quarterfinals and third time overall in the CSA Team Championships.

Middlebury plays in the Kurtz Cup consolation semifinals on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. against sixth-seeded/#14 George Washington University. The other consolation semifinal features a NESCAC battle between fifth-seeded/#13 Williams and eighth-seeded/#16 Bates at 12:30 p.m. The winners of the two matches will face off in the Kurtz Cup consolation finals on Sunday at 2:30 p.m., while the losers will play in the seventh-place match on the same day at 1:00 p.m.

The Panthers took three games from the Cavaliers during the match, as #2 Virginia Schaus, #5 Caroline Arena and #6 Natasha Lowitt each won a game.
