The Middlebury men's golf team finished one spot shy of qualifying for the NESCAC Championship, placing fifth overall at the fall qualifier. Middlebury shot a 300 on day one and a 304 on Sunday for a two-day total of 604. Williams won the event and the right to host the spring championship with a 586, followed by Tufts (588), Hamilton (595) and Trinity (597). Action took place at the Sandy Burr Country Club and was hosted by Tufts. Middlebury returns to action on October 12-13 at the Saratoga Invitational.
Phin Choukas (74-75) and Jordan Bessalel (76-73) both finished in a tie for eighth place, each coming in with a 149. Jeffrey Giguere was one spot back in a tie for 12th place, earning a score of 150 (71-79). Sean McGarrity was next for the Panthers with a 156 (79-77), followed by David Packer (79-81).
