Tucker Gongaware was one of three Middlebury golfers to finish in the top 25.
Sitting in sixth place entering the final round, the Middlebury men's golf team shot an even-par score of 288 to climb four spots and earn runner-up honors at the Bowdoin Fall Invitational. New York University (NYU) took home the team title with a two-round effort of 880, while the Panthers were six strokes behind (886). Tufts fired an 888 to round out the top three.

HIGHLIGHTS
- Jack Mark paced the Panthers for the third-consecutive weekend, firing a 54-hole score of 218 (73-73-72) to earn a share of seventh place alongside two other golfers. The rookie recorded eight holes under par on the weekend, headlined by an eagle on the par-five third hole on Sunday.
- Slotting in a tie for 12th was Julian Galindo Macias. The senior posted a one-under 71 over the final 18 holes to climb 12 spots and secured a 220. He also tallied an eagle in the second round on the par-five 16th hole.
- Tucker Gongaware shot a 225 (77-74-74) to share 25th with six golfers. The Panther also logged an eagle on the 16th hole during Saturday's second round.
- Jake Forrest (76-76-77-229) and Akash Agarwal (83-81-71-235) finished tied for 46th and 64th, respectively, to round out the Middlebury contingent.Â
NOTES
- The Panthers were the only team to shoot at or below par in a round and recorded 33 birdies as a unit. Galindo Macias paced the squad with nine and set a one-round (71) and 54-hole (220) career-low showing.
- Agarwal tallied a career-best score of 71 during the final round.Â
- Mark bested his previous 54-hole performance of 221 set during last weekend's Williams Fall Invitational.Â
- The navy and white were tied with Eastern Connecticut State and Trinity for the most eagles on the weekend with three.
The Panthers are off from competition next weekend, returning to action on Saturday, October 10 for the two-day Skidmore Fall Invitational at the Saratoga Spa Golf Course.
