Middlebury scored the game's first eight goals and never looked back, on its way to a 14-5 win at #11 Colby (7-4, 3-4) on Saturday afternoon. The third-ranked Panthers (9-1, 5-1) return to action on Wednesday when they host Plymouth State at 4:30 p.m.

Leading 3-0, Middlebury scored three times in less than a minute to go on top 6-0 at the 18:37 mark. Emma McDonagh netted the first goal, followed by a pair from Erin Nicholas, including one on a free-position shot.

Grace Getman and Jane Earley each converted free-position goals, before Robyn Pirie put Colby on the board at the 5:18 mark, making it 8-1. Kirsten Murphy scored for the Panthers, before Nicholas closed the first-half scoring on a free-position shot for a 10-1 lead at the break.

Emma Banks scored the opening goal of the second session for the Mules, with Earley answering with a pair of the Panthers. Two more Middlebury goals gave the Panthers a 14-2 lead with 17:17 left to play. Colby scored the game's final three markers to make the final score, 14-5.

Nicholas' career-high four goals paced Middlebury, while Earley also netted four. Lily Riseberg finished with three assists, McDonagh had a goal and two assists, while Sara DiCenso dished out a pair of helpers. Earley collected eight draw controls in the win, while Erica Barr earned four. Julia Keith picked up the win in goal with three saves, while Kate Furber made six stops in the second half.

Five different players scored for Colby, as Izzy Scribano made nine stops in net.

Middlebury held a 30-21 lead in shots and a 13-4 edge in draw controls. The Panthers have now won nine-straight games, and held an opponent to single-digit goals for the seventh time in nine games.
