Panthers Defeat George Washington at CSA Team Championships

The Middlebury women's squash team defeated No. 14 George Washington (4-15) by a 6-3 score on Saturday in the Kurtz Cup consolation semifinal at the CSA Women's Squash Team Championship. The three-day event is being hosted by Trinity in the Kellner Squash Center. The 15th-ranked Panthers (13-5) return to action Sunday at 12:30 p.m. in the 13th/14th-place match against No. 13 Williams in a contest to be played at Wesleyan.

Middlebury secured the first five matches to come to a decision. Mira Chugh won by default at No. 9, while Natasha Lowitt doubled the Panther edge with a three-game victory one spot above over Anna Moscovici (11-4, 11-5, 11-6).

Anne Glassie battled back from a two-game deficit for a win at No. 6 against Haley Hunt (5-11, 8-11, 14-12, 11-5, 11-7), while Alexa Comai did the same thing in a five-game triumph against Emma Tryon in the third position (4-11, 6-11, 11-5, 11-6, 11-8). Gwen Davis tallied the match-clinching fifth point via a three-game win at No. 7 against Aarushi Lakhotia (11-8, 11-3, 11-8).

George Washington recorded their first point with a three-game victory at No. 2. Natalie Madden outlasted Brooke Feldman in the middle of the ladder (3-11, 11-5, 9-11, 11-7, 11-8) to make it a 6-1 score.

The Colonials claimed matches at No. 1 and No. 4 for the final 6-3 score.
