Middlebury finished fifth at the 2019 New England Division III Men's Indoor Track & Field Championship hosted by MIT at the Johnson Athletic Center. Highlighting the meet were four event wins for the Panthers. Middlebury collected 64 points among the 23 scoring programs, finishing behind the host Engineers (164), Tufts (78), WPI (67) and Southern Maine (65.5). The team returns to action next Saturday when it takes part in the Tufts Last-Chance Meet. The top-eight finishers in each event earned All-New England honors.

Minhaj Rahman continued his stellar indoor season, winning for the seventh time this winter with a heave of 61'2.25" during the weight throw. That toss eclipses the mark of 61'1.5" which he set two weeks ago.

Jonathan Perlman won the mile run with a time of 4:10.82, while the 4x400-meter relay team of Arden Coleman, William Robertson, Matthew Durst and Jimmy Martinez earned the best time of 3:21.94, winning the event by 2.99 seconds.

A few events later, the distance medley relay quartet of Will Meyer, Coleman, Nathan Hill and Perlman claimed the top time of 10:10.99.

Meyer added a third-place effort in the 3,000 meters (8:34.36), while Harrison Knowlton was fourth in the 5,000 meters (15:13.40). Martinez stopped the clock in fourth place during the 200 meters (22.50).

Off the track, John Natalone was fourth in the pole vault, clearing the bar at 15'1.75", while Nathaniel Klein was fifth in the shot put (48'3.5").
