Men’s Track and Field Showcases Strong Efforts to Close NCAA Championships

Benjamin Hughes secured 10th place during the 1,500-meter run at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.
The Middlebury men's track and field team concluded competition at the NCAA Outdoor Championships on Saturday in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

HIGHLIGHTS
  • During the championship final of the 400-meter hurdles, Joey Caspar placed seventh with a clocking of 52.86 seconds. He also earned two points for the team standings.
  • Benjamin Hughes raced to a time of 3:49.73 in the 1,500 championship heat, claiming 10th place. He completed his final lap in 58.88 seconds to jump a pair of runners.
  • The 4x400 relay quartet of Wyatt Lawton, Emerson Kington, Nate Gardner and Caspar secured ninth place with a time of 3:16.61.
NOTES
  • The Panthers secured All-American accolades in each event.
Middlebury finished third at the conference meet and saw seven athletes earn the chance to compete on the NCAA stage.
