The Middlebury men's golf team placed seventh out of 20 teams competing at the Williams Fall Invitational Tournament. The hosts won the event with a red-hot 588, followed by Husson (605) and Trinity (607), while the Panthers shot a 618. Action was contested at the Taconic Golf Club in Williamstown, Massachusetts. Middlebury returns to action next weekend at the NESCAC Qualifier hosted by Wesleyan.
Reid Buzby and David Packer led the Panthers at the event, both tying for 16th place overall. Buzby carded a 76 and 77, while Packer turned in a 79 and 74, as both golfers tallied a 153. Next for the team was Phin Choukas, who shot a pair of 78s for a 156. Just one stroke behind was Jordan Bessalel, who shaved five strokes off his day one score with a 76 on Sunday for a 157. Rounding out the squad was Chris Thompson, who came in with a 163 (80-83).
